BOOT Düsseldorf 2025
Visiting this year’s BOOT Düsseldorf, 2 trends really caught our eye.
-
even more aquatic toys to choose from, plus
-
a large variety of folding bulwarks to enjoy more deck space.

This last trend has clearly spread from superyacht building to smaller yacht building and is absolutely an interesting development! Sea Level's expertise can help you for structural & feature integrations that ensure safe handling and more fun on board.
Keep an eye on this, emerging trend!!
Exterior lighting that accentuates a boat's shapes, inspired by, again, superyachts.
Sea Level is being challenged for integrating this design element as invisible as possible.
The background deserves a closer look

Visualization - step 3/5 'background rendering'
As it comes to visualization, the background usually gets a role in ‘the background’. We are truly convinced it deserves a closer look. A vibrant background creates a sense of size and will portray the right dimensions of a product or idea shown. It will add the right atmosphere and emotion. All in all giving any visualization the potential to excel.
Interested? Read below about the different levels of background/ scenery rendering.
Yacht in studio
Using a studio surrounding, is the most basic way of showing any design or feature.
In all its simplicity a very effective, clear-cut method. The eye of the beholder will be guided towards the main subject of the visualization, without any distractions.

Yacht in water and HDRI-background
To get a more realistic experience, we put the main image in a realistic surroundings with the help of High Dynamic Range Imaging. Using elements like water, the sky and a horizon. The effects of water can be simulated by using a surface copying the waterline. A very precise job.

Yacht in water and 3D- modeled background
To get an even more realistic presentation, a dedicated, separate render-background (scenery) can be built. Giving the whole visualization a true 3D look and feel. When the view-point towards the image changes, all elements within the visualization get their own new positioning.

Yacht in water and 3D- modeled background and decor
Finally, taking it even one step further, people, vegetation and other objects are included. This will give a much better idea of the size and the exact dimensions of a design or feature. And of course an even more realistic general appearance.

Recently hired and still hiring

Sea Level team
Recently we expanded our team with two new colleagues that share our love for thinking outside the box.

Fresh from Amsterdam University (HvA), Danyel Plaggenburg started with us as engineer exterior.
And Michiel Vermeylen, product designer, trained in yacht design at the Polytecnico di Milano and experienced in exterior engineering, finds himself in the role of project leader & business developer.

Danyel could need a hand or two with all the challenges ahead of him, so we are looking for another project engineer exterior. Please, spread the word!

Soon and sadly, we will say goodbye to Bianca, who has worked in our team for 4,5 years. Challenging but hopefully not impossible, Bianca will be followed up by a new office manager, just as nice as Bianca, vacancy available!
