MONACO YACHT SHOW 2026 - movie

Familiar faces, Fresh perspectives

The 2026 Monaco Yacht Show gave us new insights as well as nice-to-see-you-agains! It is always great to encounter projects we worked on and meet the people that trusted us with these projects. But it is also truly energizing to discover new trends or see them confirmed.

The three magic words this year were:

bigger, more and complexity

Clients want larger vessels. Currently more than 80 superyachts exceed 100 metres in length! They demand more (much more) toys and tenders and last but not least they want them better hidden, tucked away. This even goes for functional deck equipment. In terms of Feature Integration all of this is a huge challenge. So for us, that is where the fun begins.

Other interesting trends are a growing interest for refit we’re often asked to get involved when deck cranes need to be adapted for lifting tenders or MOBs. When an owner asks for a bigger tender, for example, this typically means more weight and less room for crew when launching and retrieving. Furthermore, is a heavier-duty crane required? Does the deck structure need reinforcing and, if so, what will that entail? Will we have to start ripping out interior spaces?

In line with these transformations, working together in our business is becoming even more important. For any project, the emphasis should be on high involvement from all parties concerned and especially a strict management of communication lines. We need to have a clear view on all challenges to be faced and tasks to be performed as early in the process as possible. There is no room for mistakes.
